Nigel Paige and Justine Laycock have been knocked off the top spot on the EuroMillions lottery winners list after a single ticket holder came forward this Sunday to claim a massive £84.4 million prize.
At this point, the winner’s identity is unknown, but a Camelot spokesperson (the company that manages both the UK Lottery and the EuroMillions pan-European lottery, including their online lottery offerings) said yesterday, “We are looking forward to welcoming the lucky ticketholder to our millionaires club which is already 2,400 strong”.
Rowan Atkinson and Sir Sean Connery, neither of which are as wealthy as the latest EuroMillions winner.
Laycock and Paige each matched the winning numbers that were drawn in a February EuroMillions draw, and as a result, received £56 million in prize money.
The winners’ incredible luck catapults them into the upper echelons of the UK’s well-heeled, allowing them to count their fortunes amongst celebrities like Sir Sean Connery (£80 million), rocker Jimmy Paige (£75 million) and Mr. Bean star Rowan Atkinson (£70 million).
Try your luck in the next draw!
